ARAGON ROUND – ONE YEAR SINCE IANNONE – GO ELEVEN’S MASTERPIECE!

 

The Aragon track offers a special feeling, a mix of unique memories and emotions that bring to mind the Italian team’s two exploits on Spanish soil; two victories, both here at Motorland, both on Ducati, the first with Rinaldi in 2020, the second with Andrea Iannone, about a year ago. Aragon is definitely special, but every year is unique, and in motorsports everything changes very quickly.

The weather for the weekend promises excellent conditions, cool in the morning, mild temperatures in the afternoon, ideal for the show among the protagonists on the track. Motorland has notoriously abrasive asphalt, capable of testing the compounds drop in the race; Pirelli has therefore opted for two conservative solutions for the rear, the SC0 and the 125 development, the latter offering higher performance and softer compound than the former, while the 126, an evolution of the SCX, will be used for qualifying. No all-or-nothing tyre for Round 10. Andrea Iannone and Team Pata Go Eleven arrive in Aragon after a weekend of ups and downs at Magny-Cours. The speed was there, securing a fifth-place qualifying result and sixth place in the SP Race, but in the main races, for various reasons, the results they hoped for weren’t achieved. Aragon, where one of the greatest chapters of WorldSBK history was written a year ago, is the right place for redemption. It won’t be easy; it would be wrong to have such high expectations, but the goal of getting back to the front, having fun, and entertaining remains!

“Aragon has a special meaning for me; it’s the track where I came back to victory last year. I particularly like this track; I have great memories of it, and the layout is fun. Last round, in France, we found good speed, and I hope to get off to a good start here too, although I expect to have to close some gaps, cause some teams had the opportunity to ride at Motorland this summer. Let’s see where we stand at the end of the first day; we’ll work to bring home the best possible result!”
