DONINGTON PARK – WORLDSBK LANDS ACROSS THE CHANNEL FOR ROUND 07!
Donington Park, a historic and legendary track for WorldSBK, a regular fixture on the calendar and the theatre of spectacular and thrilling races, marks the halfway point of the championship—half the season in the history books, half history yet to be written. Its unique, old-school layout features a fast first section of downhill corners, followed by a final section of the famous Fogarty Esses, and the two very slow hairpins leading to the finish line. The rather abrasive asphalt has forced Pirelli to propose a range of standard tyres: the SC0 is the hardest, the SCX is the softest for long races, and the SCQ is for Superpole, copying last year’s range. The weather, usually unstable here, seems to promise an ideal racing weekend: temperatures around 30 degrees celsius during the race, sunshine, and a low risk of rain.
Team Pata Go Eleven enters the second half of the championship aiming to make up for their recent though performances, where unfortunately the points have been less compared to the potential on track. Donington is a track Andrea Iannone returned to only last year after racing there for the last time on a 125cc bike. In 2024, after struggling on the opening day, his performances improved, finding good speed in the long races.
What will the UK Round hold for the yellow #29 Ducati? Take note of the times, and we’ll find out in the coming days!
