WORLDSBK’S ACTION ON TRACK AT MAGNY-COURS FOR ROUND 09!
Summer is behind us, and WorldSBK returns to the spotlight with on-track action; the Nevers-Magny-Cours circuit—a classic venue for production-based racing—will host this championship showdown as the final third of the season gets underway.
Sunny, summer-like weather is forecast for the weekend with a low chance of rain—a rarity for this track located in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region. Team Go Eleven and Lorenzo Baldassarri return to the track following a solid weekend at Donington Park, aiming to defend their seventh place in the championship standings while eyeing a potential move into the top five. Given the track’s moderate tire wear, Pirelli has opted for its standard tyre configuration for this French round: the SCX for races and SCQ for qualifying at the rear, with the SC1 likely to be the choice for the front. After a break of about a month, it will be crucial to quickly regain the right rhythm on the bike and find the ideal setup for this unique circuit, which features numerous changes of direction, fast corners, and two major heavy-braking zones—including the Adelaide hairpin, the slowest corner on the whole calendar and a notorious hotspot for tension and clashes during the opening-lap scramble.
Now, all that remains is to wait for the engines to turn up—less than 24 hours until WorldSBK action resumes!

“I like the Magny-Cours track; I’ve won here in Supersport and have often felt comfortable on the bike. Conditions look perfect, so we can focus entirely on working with the team. Tomorrow, I want to find the right setup for this track—I haven’t ridden here on the Ducati Panigale V4-RS yet, so we’ll try to make the most of Friday. We regained some consistency at Donington, and I hope to be fighting for a top-five finish here. Let’s see how it feels tomorrow, and then we can set our goals for the weekend. I can’t wait to get back on my bike after the long summer break!”
