Portimao, in the heart of the Algarve, kicks off the second half of the 2024 WorldSBK season; six races done, six races to go, sixth place currently, to defend and improve, in the Championship standings for Andrea Iannone and the Go Eleven team.<\/p>\n

A spectacular track, highly adrenaline-filled, full of ups & downs and fast corners, combined with a real take-off point where some protagonists will “take flight”. One of the most complete and fun tracks of the whole calendar, technical, fast and breathtaking, to offer a unique event in the middle of summer. The temperatures, very hot over 35 degrees, will add a further difficulty factor during the sessions. The asphalt is really challenging and abrasive, so much so that Pirelli has brought two SC0 tyre solutions to guarantee durability and stability in long races, while the SCX is the qualifying tyre. In free practice, the “zero evolution” rear will be tested, in order to understand its feeling. Andrea Iannone has never raced a full race weekend on the \u201cPortuguese rollercoaster\u201d, as it is a relatively new structure, but he had the opportunity to get to know the track during the pre-season winter test. There were some areas to fix along the track, but today, six months later, we will take to the track with a completely different experience behind us and above all in different temperature and grip conditions. The last factor to consider and which distinguishes Round 07 from the previous ones is the start time. For the first time the race will take place in the evening, at 18:00 local time.<\/p>\n
