He earned points in the SP Race, finishing in the Top 9, and showed\u00a0an excellent race in the afternoon, riding the pace to finish just close to\u00a0the podium. It was hard to overtake today and there was something missing in the final two sectors, but the UK Round delivered a consistent\u00a0weekend.<\/p>\n<p>A good step forward had been done in the Warm Up compared to Saturday, where Andrea went on\u00a0track on used tyres, riding in the high 26s. This was 3\/4 tenths of a second better than yesterday&#8217;s race, and a small improvement in sector three.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Warm Up:<br \/>\nP 1\u00a0 \u00a0N. Bulega\u00a0 \u00a01.26.069<br \/>\nP 2\u00a0 \u00a0S. Lowes\u00a0 \u00a0+ 0.105<br \/>\nP 3\u00a0 \u00a0T. Razgatlioglu\u00a0 \u00a0+ 0.155<br \/>\n&#8230;<br \/>\nP 15\u00a0 \u00a0A. Iannone\u00a0 \u00a0+ 0.811<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In the Superpole Race, the #29 had\u00a0a good start, immediately joining the battle for the grid change, chasing Petrucci. The short race was with the SCX, which began to give way slightly towards the end, preventing Andrea from attacking the Umbrian rider. He finished ninth on the grid, securing two rows, but he still needs to improve his braking towards T 11 and the entry to T 9, the two classic overtaking spots at Donington Park.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Superpole Race:<br \/>\nP 1\u00a0 \u00a0T. Iannone\u00a0 \u00a0+ 9.546<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In Race 2, the Vasto rider defended well at he start, overtaking Vickers and Aegerter in the early laps. A &#8220;waiting&#8221; race was held toward the final laps, where the Ducati Pata Go Eleven could have had more grip on the rear. Andrea was faster than Gerloff and Petrucci, but never had a chance to attack; the American Kawasaki rider was very fast in the final part of the track, defending the main braking points well. On lap 16, Andrea attempted to attack, but went wide, cutting the 9-10 chicane into the gravel; he lost two seconds, a position on Aegerter, and the gap to the pair battling for fifth place widened. The Swiss Yamaha rider quickly caught up, lapping about a second faster than fourth place, but it was time for the checkered flag. Seventh place, a solid and competitive race, to conclude a strong weekend.<\/p>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Race 2:<br \/>\nP 1\u00a0 \u00a0T. Iannone\u00a0 \u00a0+ 14.422\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Coming across the Channel after two tough races, the Pata Go Eleven team and Andrea Iannone completed a consistent weekend with a strong pace in all races. More could have been achieved by fully exploiting their potential, but after so many zeros, returning to move up the standings and getting points is a positive sign. Now WorldSBK moves to Hungary at the end of July for the final round before the summer break!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Andrea Iannone (Rider):\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">&#8220;This Sunday we made a step forward in terms of feeling and race pace. In the SP Race, I managed to make up several positions and get into the top nine, allowing me to start Race 2 with less gap. In the afternoon, it was a waiting race. I knew I had more tyre\u00a0in the final stages, so I tried to wait for the right moment to attack. There are few overtaking opportunities here at Donington, and I didn&#8217;t have the confidence to do so in the final two sectors. A straightaway in the chicane made me lose my rhythm, but then I managed to move up to seventh place. I felt I could go faster, but in the\u00a0slipstream, the front tyre was heating up. We&#8217;re returning from Donington with some good points in the standings, which will give us confidence heading to Balaton!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Denis Sacchetti (Team Manager):\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n&#8220;Today we brought home a solid Sunday. Andrea was strong\u00a0in the Superpole Race, taking two rows, and in Race 2 we were back in the fight for the important positions. We had a good pace, but overtaking here isn&#8217;t easy. In fact, we saw a lot of &#8220;trains&#8221; and several riders opened and closed the gap\u00a0through the sectors. He tried at the chicane, but unfortunately he went a bit wide, losing the chance to fight for the top five. After some difficult races, it&#8217;s a good result that gives us confidence. We&#8217;re struggling a bit under braking, so we&#8217;ll have to fix this because Balaton is a stop-and-go track.
