It was an excellent day for Team Go Eleven and Lorenzo Baldassarri on French soil as they returned to the track following the long summer break. What stands out is not so much the\u00a0position\u2014just outside the top three\u2014but the close gap to the leader; this highlights the significance of what was\u00a0the most competitive Friday of the season.<\/p>\n
In FP1, the WorldSBK bikes turned\u00a0on\u00a0again after a break of about a month and a half; Balda used the session to shake off the rust and get the feeling back on\u00a0the bike and the speed he has shown\u00a0throughout 2026. Right from the start, the number 34 rider found the perfect blend of fluidity and aggressivity\u00a0needed to be fast at Magny-Cours. He performed excellently in the sectors featuring chicanes, though there was still room for improvement in the final section of the track.<\/p>\n
Free Practice 1: During FP2, track temperatures reached nearly 50\u00b0C, reducing\u00a0the grip of the aphalt. The Go Eleven rider conducted a front\u00a0comparison test that yielded positive results. In the final half-hour, he completed a long run, demonstrating great consistency and solidity while steadily improving his lap times. He set his best lap\u2014a 1:36.1\u2014on tires with 16 laps of wear, placing him fourth, just two-tenths off the top spot. It was\u00a0his best Friday of the season\u2014the perfect way to get back to work with the right mindset.<\/p>\n
