WORLDSBK IS READY FOR THREE BACK-TO-BACK RACES; LET’S START FROM MONTMELO’!

The WorldSBK circus faces the final European rush of the 2021 World Championship, before moving overseas; Barcelona-Montmelò, Jerez de la Frontera and Portimao, three weekends back-to-back that will define the fight for the title!

The first act of these three busy weeks will be held in Catalunya, on the Montmelò circuit, located not far from Barcelona. Famous track, theater of great overtakings and impressive battles, hosts the Superbike for the second consecutive year. In last year’s Round Chaz Davies had obtained the victory in Race 2. The Welshman therefore arrives at Montmelò with the best memories and the best sensations. It’s important to underline the fact that, in the winter, the first test was carried out right here; consequently all the riders will have a starting set-up point in view of the racing weekend. The layout of the track is complete, with nice turns in ups and downs, compressions, hard braking points, especially at T1, and changes of direction. The Go Eleven team arrives in Spain from the excellent performance of Magny-Cours, constantly growing and always close to the podium; the fight for the Best Independent Rider gets underway, and Montmelò is a crucial hub for the Championship.

We just have to get on the track and experience the thrill of WorldSBK, for three weeks in a row, the bikes will be the masters of the scene; no break, just lots of entertainment and fun!

Chaz Davies (Rider):
“Back to Barcelona, it’s the first of the three races, it is gonna be a really busy period. I have great memories from here winning the second race last year. This circuit is particularly demanding for grip, what we found last year is that we were not so fast with the new tyre, but we were quite fast for the race distance. So, I think, I can expect something similar this year, obviously we found a good set-up last year, so I think we have a good reference to start from. But anyway the level in general has moved on, so we have to try to adapt also this year, to adapt our package to be as competitive as possible. The weather looks very questionable over the weekend, there is gonna be some rain and that would be interesting! Looking forward to have a solid weekend!”
