SHAKEDOWN IN MISANO; TWO DAYS TESTING TO GET READY TO THE HOME ROUND!

30/31 May, all the main teams and riders of the Superbike World Championship competed in a two days of testing to get ready to Round 04, which will take place in mid-June. Andrea Iannone and Team Go Eleven took to the track for the first time together at the Misano World Circuit, with the aim of finding the right set-up with which to start the official weekend.

The first day proved to be productive and full of work. Andrea, together with the technicians, carried out various comparisons on the geometry of the V4-R, then finding an important solution in the last hour available. Best lap in race configuration in the last outing with used tyres, a convincing 33.6 with the only SCQ used throughout the test. Day 2 begins with the absolute best time of Vasto’s rider in race configuration, then the rain changes the teams’ work plan. Thunderstorms continued until the early afternoon, then the sun came back to heat the Romagna track and the last two hours became a good time to eliminate any remaining doubts. In the second part of the day, however, the feeling between bike and rider is not the best, there are difficulties especially in the electronics and slow corners areas.

The test was perhaps more complicated than expected, but rider and team collected fundamental data to better face the race weekend. In the tests laptime is not very important, but all the work on setting up the bike; in these two pre-event weeks the datas will be analyzed in order to find the areas with the greatest margin for improvement.

Combined results:
P 1   T. Razgatlioglu   1.32.535
P 2   N. Bulega   + 0.196
P 3   J. Rea   + 0.578

P 9   A. Iannone   + 1.118

Day 1 – Andrea Iannone – (Rider):

“It was an overall positive day. We managed to complete different set-up tests that we were unable to carry out in Cremona due to bad weather. In the afternoon, however, we returned to a set-up already used in the past with which I managed to be faster and more consistent. We will continue to work tomorrow to improve some aspects in view of the next round, but I am satisfied with the last outing and the time obtained with used tyre. I thank Team Go Eleven and Ducati for the support.”

Day 2 – Andrea Iannone – (Rider):
“We had some difficulties during these tests, the feeling with the bike wasn’t very positive, but they are only tests and allow us to try different set-up solutions and more. When we return we will analyze the data collected to be ready to race, more prepared and certainly motivated to give my best. The fast corners weren’t bad, it was difficult to manage the slow ones because the bike had difficulty in breaking. Yesterdays laptimes weren’t too far, but there is certainly room for improvement. There will be a round in Misano in two weeks and, it’s an Italian race, I want to fight for the top positions, we will try to do our best.”
