MISANO – THE HOME RACE!
Misano World Circuit, there’s nothing like home!
The famous Romagna track prepares to welcome Round 07 of WorldSBK, accompanied by thousands of fans, driven by the Italian passion for two wheels; the festive and unique atmosphere emanating from its fans, makes the paddock a special place. Team Go Eleven and Lorenzo Baldassarri get here from an unlucky Sunday in Aragon, where speed promised a great result, but unfortunately a crash complicated the day. With the negative sides deleted, they must build on the good results shown so far, in this excellent comeback season in World Superbike for Balda.
In Misano, the team is fresh from a two-day test; the asphalt is not very abrasive, so much so that Pirelli is allowing the use of the SCX in the race and the SCQ in qualifying. Temperatures are expected to rise in the coming days, with a hot Sunday expected to reach around 35 degrees. The conditions for a good result this weekend are there, but expectations and pressure remain low, because the important thing this season is to deliver and get the most out of every weekend, to fight for the Top 5 in the overall standings!
Lorenzo Baldassarri (Rider):
“The home race is always unique and special. There will be a lot of fans here, and racing with their enthusiasm gives me extra motivation. We rode here in Misano before Aragon. I struggled a little to find speed, but I’m pretty confident going into the race. I want to bounce back from Sunday in Aragon and build on the fact that we were fast and fighting for the podium, after a significant step forward with the bike after Race 1. I can’t wait to get out on track and see what the laptime says!”
