BACK-TO-BACK WORLDSBK; THE FINAL RUSH STARTS FROM ESTORIL!
WorldSBK is approaching the climax of a long and thrilling 2027 season! It’s a back-to-back season finale, kicking off at the Circuito do Estoril, just outside Lisbon.
This historic track—often buffeted by Atlantic winds—features significant elevation changes. Here on the Portuguese circuit, sweeping curves combine with heavy braking zones, such as the first corner, which is taken in first gear. It boasts an old-school layout that has consistently delivered spectacular races and hard battles. The weather forecast for the weekend looks ideal: sunny skies, no chance of rain, and warm temperatures around 20°C. Estoril’s track surface offers medium grip levels, so the tyre selection relies on Pirelli’s standard range: SCX and SC0 for the races, and SCQ for qualifying and the Superpole Race.
Balda and the team head into this final rush sitting sixth in the World Championship standings, 26 points away from fifth place. Their stated goal is to defend their position and try to get back into the fight for a top-five finish in the championship, on a track that—on paper—suits both the characteristics of the Ducati Panigale V4-R and the riding style of the number 34!
Lorenzo Baldassarri (Rider):
“I come to in Estoril ready and excited for first Round of the season finale! We come from the Cremona Round where we were very competitive, and I was back close to the podium, which motivates me a lot in view of this Round. Estoril is an old-fashioned track, I like it, there are some very adrenaline-filled fast points, but we will also need to be strong in braking. The goal is to fight for the Top 5, this season we managed to get it in almost all the Rounds and I want to finish this Championship in the best possible way. Tomorrow we will work on the set-up, I hope to find a base quickly so I can then focus on the details!”
