Andrea Iannone is back in racing competition for the first time in four years in 2024. ‘The Maniac’ will make his WorldSBK debut with Team GoEleven onboard an Independent Panigale V4 R as he returns to action.
Although he’s had four seasons away from racing, Iannone’s speed and talent is undeniable. A winner in the 125cc World Championship on four occasions, in Moto2™ on eight and a one-time MotoGP™ race winner, the #29 brings a wealth of experience to WorldSBK as well as a colourful personality. In the 125cc World Championship, it took until his fourth season before he claimed victory, but it was in Moto2™ where his talent really shone.
Three seasons in the Championship all yielded wins and podiums as he battled for the title. He came up just short – finishing third in all three seasons – but still earnt himself a MotoGP™ rider for 2013. He took 11 podiums in his seven seasons in the premier class, including a win at the 2016 Austrian Grand Prix.
