Italian rider Lorenzo Baldassarri is back in WorldSBK! For 2026, he joins Team GoEleven on their Ducati Panigale V4 R, aiming for more success than he had in his first stint in World Superbike. ‘Balda’ knows the paddock well, having raced in WorldSSP for two seasons as well, while he also fought for this year’s MotoE crown.
Ducati (2026-)
After last competing in WorldSBK in 2023, Baldassarri will be back in action in 2026 on the Ducati as he joins the Independent Ducati-powered Team GoEleven squad in place of Andrea Iannone.
Yamaha (2023)
Baldassarri’s first WorldSBK stint came in 2023 on the Yamaha R1. He finished 18th in the standings with 20 points in his rookie season, with a best finish of 12th. He came into the season on the back of a title-contending WorldSSP campaign, and moved back to World Supersport for 2024.
WorldSSP
Baldassari made the move into WorldSSP in 2022 with the Evan Bros. Yamaha squad and he challenge Dominique Aegerter for the title, although the Swiss rider came out on top. Despite that, ‘Balda’ took four wins and 16 podiums as he finished as runner-up. Following his 2023 WorldSBK campaign, he returned to WorldSSP but struggled to re-adapt. He initially raced on the Ducati Panigale V2, taking a best of P9, before finishing it on the Triumph Street Triple 765 RS, where his best result was tenth.
